'BJP conspiracy to defame Bengal': Abhishek Banerjee on Sandeshkhali row
The vibrant festival of Holi, celebrated with fervor and enthusiasm nationwide, is approaching this year. According to the Kashi Panchang, Holika Dahan, the ceremonial bonfire marking the triumph of good over evil, is scheduled for March 24th, followed by the colorful festivities of Holi on March 26th. Traditionally, Holi is celebrated on the day of Pratipada, not on the full moon day.
Holika Dahan typically occurs on the full moon day of Falgul Shukla Paksha in the Muhurta without Bhadra. This year, due to the occurrence of two full moon days, the calendar suggests that Holi will be observed on two separate dates. Holika Dahan will take place nationwide on the midnight of March 24th, following the conclusion of Bhadra after 10:40 pm, adhering to the tradition of burning the symbolic effigy of Holika only on the full moon day without Bhadra.
